Dr John Burgess

John grew up in Zimbabwe and attended the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where he obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree in 2017. He then moved to the UK where he underwent further training, consisting of a rotating internship at a busy referral hospital, followed by a three-year residency training program in veterinary ophthalmology. John became a European Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2024 and has recently set up Berkshire Eye Vet, a peripatetic, specialist veterinary ophthalmology referral service. Outside of work, John enjoys a variety of sports and spending time with his growing family.
