We’re an award-winning, independent small animal practice in East Sheen. We act as a hybrid clinic, seeing both first opinion and complex referral cases, so every day brings something different. With our state-of-the-art facilities, including laparoscopy, ultrasound, and our very own CT scanner, we offer an incredibly high standard of care for our patients.

What will my day-to-day look like?
As an RVN at Pet People Vets, no two days are the same! You’ll be an essential part of our clinical team, ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients and clients. Your day may involve:
Blood sampling & IV placement – Playing a key role in diagnostic procedures and patient care.
Monitoring anaesthesia & patient recovery – Ensuring patient safety and comfort during and after surgical procedures.
Nurse consults – Running clinics for post-op checks, weight management, nail clipping, and client education.
Schedule 3 procedures – Conducting minor surgical procedures under veterinary supervision.
Training and mentoring – Supporting student nurses and fostering a learning environment as a clinical coach.
Running CT scans – Assisting in advanced imaging procedures to aid diagnostics.
Driving clinical excellence – Contributing to continuous improvement in patient care and

We will give you a day off on your birthday, so you can relax and just celebrate being you!
What is the weekend rota?
You’ll work 1 in 6 weekends, covering a full day Saturday and Sunday. But don’t worry—you’ll get time off in lieu to keep your work-life balance in check. Bank holidays are shared amongst the team but on average you will only work one bank holiday a year.
Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking a driven and capable Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and isn’t afraid of a challenge. You’ll have a keen eye for detail, a flexible approach, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
Our ideal candidate will:
Have strong clinical nursing skills across a range of areas, including inpatient care, anaesthesia monitoring, and diagnostics and running nursing clinics.
Stay calm under pressure, able to multitask and adapt to a busy and varied workload.
Take changes in their stride, embracing new challenges and evolving protocols with a positive, problem-solving mindset.
Work well as part of a team, helping to create a supportive and collaborative environment.
Be keen to develop both personally and professionally, always striving to improve standards and push their skills further.
Undertake all general nursing duties within the practice and provide assistance to all veterinary surgeons when required.
To carry out an be accountable for any specific tasks or responsibilities allocated by the Head
Nurse, Practice Manager or Partners.
Ensure you are organised and well prepared for the cases coming into the practice and you provide support where necessary to cover low staffing periods.
Administer treatment (e.g injections, medications, fluid therapy, dressings and euthanasia as directed) and dispense medication as instructed by the veterinary surgeon all in accordance with professional guidelines and practice policies.
Ensure you keep accurate records with regards to medical records, anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms etc.
Care for all in-patients including pre-op care/medication, monitoring and recovery and post op care/medication.
Ensure effective stock rotation/replenishment where applicable.
Support with reception duties where necessary, reporting on progress of in-patients to clients by telephone as needed.
Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the premises and animal areas and particularly the clinical areas with regular cleaning/routine care of all equipment to include the correct methods of sterilisation and reporting any faults or damage.
Provide support and assistance to the Head Nurse and Practice Manager as required.
Assist the practice with any marketing initiatives which may include occasional open evenings or open days.
Qualifications & Experience
Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
Ideally 1+ years working as a qualified nurse however, we are open to newly qualified nurses so do please apply!
Ideally Clinical coach status (We are happy to train you to do this!)
Valid certification or license to practice as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the UK
Valid UK Drivers license (desired not essential)
