Some practices treat the weekend as a skeleton service. We don't.

Why does that matter to you?

We're incredibly proud of what we've built at PetPeople – a brilliant team, exceptional facilities, wonderful clients and, of course, the amazing pets we get to care for every day. And we're open seven full days a week.

Our East Sheen branch is the heart of the practice – 4,000 sq ft of purpose-built veterinary care, where weekends are proper clinical days with experienced vets working together and the same commitment to excellent first-opinion care that we have through the week.

Overnight, we're supported by Wolfe Vets in Fulham, who look after our emergencies and hospitalised patients until we're back in the building the following morning.

Weekend consults are included in our health plan, so our members never have to work out whether something can wait until Monday. We believe that gives our clients something increasingly valuable – proper continuity of care, seven days a week, from a veterinary team they know and trust. It's also how we'd rather work: using proactive care to maintain wellness, rather than just reacting to illness.

And that's where you could come in.

We're looking for another great vet to become part of the PetPeople team and help us deliver that care. We need some help with our weekend work, maybe one weekend in three, but we're flexible and happy to chat if you'd like to work more or less.

More important to us is finding someone who believes in the sort of veterinary practice we're trying to build.

PetPeople was founded because we wanted to create somewhere that was genuinely enjoyable to work – a happy, supported and ambitious team, given the facilities, time and opportunities to do really good veterinary work. We wanted a happy team who could therefore care brilliantly for pets and their people. That's it really.

And we're rather proud of how far we've come. In 2026, PetPeople was named Overall Practice of the Year at the SPVS Awards, as well as winning the award for Team Dynamics.

But awards aren't really why we do it.

The role

Weekend consulting and day-to-day clinical work at our East Sheen branch
Hours: 8:00am–6:30pm, Saturday and Sunday [TO CHECK – published East Sheen hours are Sat 7:30am–6:30pm and Sun 8:00am–5:30pm, so the Sunday finish doesn't match]
Rota pattern: one weekend in three, both days, with flexibility either way
Salary: dependent on experience, FTE range £40k–£70k
Contract: part-time, permanent
Working alongside experienced vets both days
Experience we're looking for: two years plus, able to work up a range of cases and comfortable in surgery
