Dr Ian Stroud

Founder and veterinary surgeon

Ian has spent his career working across a rich variety of practices, from mixed practice in North Yorkshire to small animal clinics in Surrey and South West London, both independent and corporate, as well as owning and running a number of successful practices himself. He has a particular passion for keyhole surgery, which he loves for the real difference it makes to patients; less discomfort, faster recovery and fewer complications.

He doesn't have any pets at home at the moment due to family allergies, but his first childhood pet, a guinea pig called Arthur, turned out to be something of a gateway: rabbits, stick insects, tortoises, lizards, snakes, fish, hamsters, rats and a pig called Cynthia all followed.

Outside work, Ian loves anything adventurous and outdoors – skiing, climbing, hiking, sailing and a round of golf (admittedly a bad one). His dream meal would be by the sea with his family: garlicky prawns with fresh bread to start, simply cooked local fish with lemon and olive oil for main, and a raspberry crème brûlée to finish, all with a crisp glass of white wine.

“Would highly recommend bringing your pets here. Nice to see an independent practice! Highly trust Dr Stroud's judgement and gold standard care of my pets.”
