Dr Georgina Friend

Veterinary surgeon

Georgina has been caring for the pets of south-west London since graduating from Bristol University in 2018, and joined PetPeople's East Sheen branch in 2026. She has a particular love of surgery and is currently pursuing a postgraduate certificate in the field. It was PetPeople's fantastic facilities and potential for growth as a surgeon that first caught her attention, but she quickly realised there was something even more special here: an incredibly welcoming team, and clients and patients to match.

At home, Georgina shares her life with three springer spaniels, Polly, Myrtle and Loulie, who make the ideal companions for hill-walking, beach camping and trail running. But her animal-loving roots go back much further, having grown up with cats, rabbits, hamsters, stick insects and, at last count, around 500 dairy cows.

When she's not in the consulting room, there's a very good chance Georgina is in the water. She'll take any opportunity for a swim, the colder the better, and preferably somewhere in Scotland. Last year she swam the Channel as part of a relay, an experience she describes as unforgettable, jellyfish and all. On drier days, she turns to sewing, watercolour painting and whatever other arts and crafts she can get her hands on. Her perfect meal leans heavily into her two great food loves: scallops and oysters to start, mussels and chips to follow, and, for pudding, another bowl of chips. No apologies.

“Would highly recommend bringing your pets here. Nice to see an independent practice! Highly trust Dr Stroud's judgement and gold standard care of my pets.”
