Laurie has always loved animals, and began her journey in veterinary medicine in 2022, training as a veterinary care assistant at a clinic in Surrey. She has recently moved to Richmond to start a new chapter at PetPeople on the front line of client care, and bring with her a strong commitment to making sure every pet and person feels comfortable and looked after.

Her pet history includes house rabbits, dogs (including four Chihuahuas at one point), and a parrot who now lives at a large sanctuary where she can fly freely and enjoy a flock. Laurie visits her regularly and is a passionate advocate for proper husbandry for exotic birds. Plans for a dog of her own are on the horizon, when the time feels right.

Laurie completed a photography degree in her early twenties and still shoots weddings and pet portraits. Thanks to a partner in the music industry, there are plenty of live gigs. Laurie also loves psychological thrillers, sea swimming, pub quizzes, painting, guitar, running, indoor bouldering and anything bird-related. Her perfect meal is a sourdough pizza from local favourite Base Face, with Cadbury's Mega Buttons for afters.
