Dr Poppy Simonson
Veterinary surgeon
Poppy graduated from Bristol University in 2018 and, after gaining experience in clinics across Dorset and London, joined PetPeople in January 2025 – and felt immediately at home. She has particular clinical interests in infectious disease, feline medicine and dentistry, and finds real privilege in building relationships with clients and supporting them through all the joys and challenges that come with pet ownership.
At home is Todd, a black-and-white rescue cat who keeps life interesting. He has already survived a fall onto train tracks resulting in a midnight rescue by Network Rail, the loss of one eye and several of his nine lives, and is, according to Poppy, the love of her life.
Poppy loves cycling to work and running, and is looking forward to a half marathon with some of the PetPeople team. Her happiest place is painting, ideally with Todd somewhere nearby, and she's currently teaching herself oils. Her dream meal is fish and chips by the sea with a big cup of tea.
“Would highly recommend bringing your pets here. Nice to see an independent practice! Highly trust Dr Stroud's judgement and gold standard care of my pets.”
